How We Got Started

A club near us asked for a new website. What it actually needed was software nobody sells to gun clubs: range statuses, dues, orientations, event registration, work days, and a gate that talks to none of it. We built that, together with their board, and it turned into some of the most rewarding work I've done. gunclub.app is that build, made ready for every other club.

Who's building this

Meet J.C.

I grew up in Walla Walla, Washington, and for most of my life I figured baseball was going to be a long-term pursuit. I played, then I coached collegiately for over a decade.

Things changed when Katie and I got married and the kids started showing up. We wanted our life pointed toward our faith and our family, and we wanted to be out from under city - and stadium - lights. Somewhere our kids could grow up outside, close to the land and whatever was living on it.

We landed on a farm north of Walla Walla. There are whitetail behind the house and mule deer across the highway, moose and the occasional elk roam the property. We have seven kids and we homeschool them, so most of what we do together happens very close to home.

Flip A Range From The Gate

Six ranges, six switches. Whoever opens up that morning taps the ones that are hot, hits save, and the status bar on the public site changes before they've walked back to the truck.

The scrolling range message underneath works the same way - type it, save it, and it sits across the top of the site until someone takes it down. No webmaster in the loop.

What we shipped

Every Feature, Proven On One Club First

Nothing on this list is a roadmap item. It is all running at eergunclub.com right now, on a volunteer board's schedule, and every one of these became a standard part of the platform.

01 · Range status

Today's Status, Six Ranges

Archery, muzzleloader, pistol bays, action shooting, rifle and 5 stand each carry their own open or closed flag on the homepage. A board member flips one from a phone at the gate.

02 · Membership

Levels And Dues Online

Individual at $80 a year and Family at $90, each expiring a year from the join date. Members pick a level, pay by card, and the roster updates itself.

03 · Member accounts

Sign In And Renew

Every member has a login that shows their level, expiration and history. Renewal is a button, not a call to the secretary.

04 · Events

Sight-Ins, Cowboy Action, Orientations

The club's real calendar - open sight-in weekends, monthly cowboy action, monthly orientation - posted with a price, free or paid, and a register button on each one.

05 · Work days

Signups With A Head Count

Name, phone, email in a box on the homepage, a confirmation email on the way out, and the board knows how many people to feed before Saturday.

06 · Alerts

The Bridge Is Out Banner

A closed road, a fire closure, a canceled match. One field, and the notice sits across the top of the site until it is taken down.

07 · Range pages

A Page Per Discipline

The 800-yard rifle line, 3D archery lanes, muzzleloader, pistol bays, trap and 5 stand, and an action bay set up for USPSA, IDPA and 3-gun - each with its own rules and photos.

08 · Club information

Safety, Usage, Emergency, Maps

Safety procedures, range usage rules, emergency procedures, orientation dates and range maps, in one section a new member can be pointed at.

09 · News and contact

Club News And The Board Inbox

Posts for closures, orientation photos and committee calls, plus one contact form that reaches the board instead of a personal email address.

From one club to a platform

The Second Club Took Days, Not Months

Every piece East End needed turned out to be a piece every club needs. Once the range board, the dues, the waiver and the events calendar were built and proven on a working range, the only thing left to change for the next club was the name on the door.

That is why the setup fee is $750 instead of a five-figure project, waived outright if you pay annually, and why the price is on the website. The build is already done.

This website merge has saved us hours as all we have to do is confirm payment then add the gate card number to their profile on the website, v.s. logging orientation then the website then the gate system. It has also saved us the headache of tracking from one report to the next. We have been able to remove a complete step to our process.

Curtis wrote a full letter about the build, the gate card merger, and what the board's workload looks like now. It runs about a page.

What it turned into

A Seven-Day Build For Your Club

Not a quarter-long project. Reserve today, send us your content, and your club is live this week - one point of contact, fixed scope, no committee cycle.

01

Day 1 · Intake

You fill out the intake right after you reserve - club history, ranges, membership levels, board contacts. Same day, we pull your existing content and roster so nothing gets lost.

02

Day 2 · Design Pass

Your club's colors, mark, and photography applied to the platform overnight. Next morning you're looking at the real homepage, membership flow, and range pages - not a slide deck - and you give one round of notes.

03

Days 3–5 · Build & Migrate

Membership levels, waiver text, events calendar, and range status configured. Existing members imported with join dates and expirations intact. Payments connected to your club's account - members can pay dues the hour you go live.

04

Days 6–7 · Launch & Train

Domain cut over, an hour of board training recorded for the officers who come after you, and a one-page cheat sheet for the range status board. Then we stay on call.

Your board can vote Tuesday and be live next week

Pricing is public. $750 to set up, waived when you pay annually, and every number is on the pricing page before you call.

To Whom It May Concern,

I am pleased to share my experience regarding the recent website merger performed by Wonderboy Creative and the outstanding partnership we've had throughout the process. From the very beginning, J.C. demonstrated a level of professionalism, clarity, and commitment that made a complex transition feel remarkably smooth.

The merger between our website and gate card system itself was executed with precision. Every phase - from initial planning to final deployment - reflected thoughtful strategy and a deep understanding of our needs. The improvements in overall website performance, navigation, and user experience have been immediately noticeable. Quality-of-life updates are implemented with haste while also ensuring that our internal team could navigate and understand it with ease.

This website merge has saved us hours as all we have to do is confirm payment (which can be done during orientation and on the website) then add the gate card number to their profile on the website v.s. logging orientation then the website then the gate system. It has also saved us the headache of tracking from one report to the next to the next, it can run any report we need for tracking financials. We have been able to remove a complete step to our process and in turn making new membership inputs quick and effortless and easy to track and store.

What truly set this company apart was their responsiveness. Any issue that surfaced, whether minor or unexpected, was addressed quickly and with complete transparency. They didn't just resolve problems - they explained the issue, offered alternatives, and made sure we felt confident in every decision. Their ability to troubleshoot with ease and maintain momentum throughout the project speaks volumes about their expertise.

Working with J.C. has been a genuinely positive experience. They are reliable, communicative, and consistently go above and beyond expectations in a timely manner I might add.

We look forward to continuing our collaboration and highly recommend their services to anyone seeking a team that delivers excellence with integrity.

Sincerely,
Curtis Mitchell
